Humanist Haven: President of United Nations Religious Freedom Committee to Speak 12/14
Are you looking to connect with others, find support, and participate in a community? Do you want a place where you can explore what makes for a meaningful life and how to help others along the way? We encourage you to join us on the second Sunday of each month for Humanist Haven, a nonreligious gathering to celebrate life’s joys and reflect on its challenges, hosted in the Clubhouse at The Grove by YHC.
This month’s speaker is Michael De Dora, President of the United Nations NGO Committee on Freedom of Religion or Belief and Director of the Center for Inquiry’s Office of Public Policy, who will share his thoughts on advocacy. Many people see challenges to transforming their personal passions into meaningful social and political advocacy. Yet often social and political advocacy can only gain traction if it is based on the collective desires of people working on shared goals. How can you channel your personal passions into advocacy? And how can your advocacy effectively reflect your personal passions?
What: Michael De Dora on “Channeling Your Personal Passions into Advocacy”
When: Sunday, December 14, 1 PM (with refreshments to follow)
Where: Clubhouse at The Grove (760 Chapel St., New Haven)
Who: Open to the public!
